“It sounds scary”
We understand that being locked in a room for 60 minutes with only the objects around you to help you escape can be a scary proposition for some people. However, for most people this fear soon passes once you are actually inside the room.
You won’t be locked inside a tiny little closet with no room to move, escape rooms are usually quite spacious with loads of things to explore and use in your quest to escape. Also, you will not be on your own! You will have all your friends around you having fun trying to escape.
If you do need a break from the room, here at Escapades we actually offer you the opportunity to leave the room for to take a breather and return when you are ready.
“I’m no good under pressure”
Again, you are not in this alone! You have the support of your teammates who will be helping to find objects and solve puzzles. You will also have the support of a game master who will lead you in the right direction and may even give you hints if you ask nicely! Just keep remembering escape games are fun!
An hour? 60 minutes? Do you really need that long?
In short, yes! Most people think that they will be able to solve all the puzzles in the first few minutes and the rest of the time they will be twiddling their thumbs. This is far from the reality though.
Escape games whilst designed to be fun they are also designed to be challenging. They are fast paced and will take up a majority of the time allocated as they only allow minimum consolidation time.
“I don’t want to be trapped”
Here at Escapades you are never truly locked inside a room and whilst an hour may seem like a long time we always encourage players to stay in the room as long as possible to give you the best chance of succeeding.
However, you are free to leave the room at any point you need to. Whether you need to visit the bathroom, take an important phone call or just take a breather you can step into the lobby and return to the game when you are ready.
“I’m no good at puzzles”
The beauty of escape games is that there is something in them for everyone and their different strengths and skill sets. Whilst there will be puzzles to be solved there are other things needed for a successful escape room experience.
People are needed to go searching for objects and clues that are needed to solve the puzzles and people are also needed to organise team members to ensure everyone is working to the end goal and all the tasks are being completed.
