“I’m Sooooooooo Excited!”
You’re focused and the adrenaline is coursing through your veins. You have assembled a crack-team of escape game participants and you are all chomping at the bit to get started. You enter the room and your excitement has reached fever pitch. You nervously wait for the clock to start ticking.
“Where is the clue?”
The clock is ticking and you are detective mode. You start searching for the first clue by looking in, on, under and on top of every object in the room. Despite this meticulous search however you are unable to find what you are looking for. You turn towards your teammates only to find puzzled looks and heads being scratched.
“OMG! I am so happy you’re here!”
This is the moment you’re glad that you picked your escape room team. One of your teammates has just solved a clue that you have been wracking your brain over in a matter of moments. You get a rush of emotion wash over you and the warm glow of a ‘proud mom’.
“Just a hint please!”
You and your teammates have been trying to solve the same clue for the last 10 minutes but it actually feels like 10 days. You haven’t had a question this difficult since your high school exams. How are you ever going to solve this? You ask for a hint in the hope that you will soon be back on track.
“What does that even mean?”
So you have got your hint from the game-master but it has left you feeling even more confused than before! Just take a breath and allow the hint to sink into your brain. Remember the reason you chose your team, they are there to help you!
“I’ve got it! I have really got it!”
The ‘lightbulb’ goes off in your head – you’ve done it! You have solved the clue! Your heart feels like it’s going to beat out of your chest and your mind is spinning. You shout out incomprehensible information to your teammates as you now have a mad rush to beat the clock and make your escape.
“We done it!”
YES! You’ve done what seemed totally impossible less than an hour ago – you escaped from the room! You walk out calmly taking it all in your stride totally forgetting that you were on the verge of a mental breakdown moments before. You then turn to your teammates and say “Fancy doing another one?”
